Job Title: Motor Mechanic/Technician (MOT qualification advantageous)
Location: Wells Motors, 17 Unit Factory Estate, Argyle Street, Hull. HU3 1HD
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time (40 hours per week with potential for overtime). Usual working hours 8:30-5:30 Monday-Friday with some Saturday mornings.
Salary: To be negotiated (£18,500 – £25,000 depending on qualifications and experience).
Starting: As soon as possible.
Wells Motors is a local family business that has been trading for over 30 years. We offer MOTs, services, repairs, tyres and other replacements. We are looking for an experienced mechanic with a “can-do” attitude to contribute to our team.
The Motor Mechanic/Technician will:
have some direct contact with existing or potential customers so will need to be well-presented (uniform to be supplied);
possess a ‘can-do’ attitude and be willing to explore all options surrounding each task;
have good manual dexterity;
be able to work alone and as part of a team;
have suitable fitness levels;
be able to follow instructions;
possess good communication skills;
possess excellent knowledge about motor vehicles;
possess their own tools to use for the job (which would be insured through the company);
be methodical and organised;
have good concentration levels;
be able to work to strict deadlines;
have a strong interest in motor vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
City & Guilds Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or a BTEC National Certificate in Vehicle Repair and Technology;
Qualified MOT tester.
Demonstrable motor diagnostic and repair experience;
Full driving licence.
This role requires commitment to approaching all activity in a professional and safe manner. Duties include:
Inspecting, servicing, repairing and testing of motor vehicles;
planning and prioritising work in order to complete on time;
carrying out routine inspections to diagnose repairs or work required;
diagnosing and carrying out repairs for each task individually and offering suggestions surrounding how each can be fixed without a need to always do so with new parts;
ensuring parts are available if required to carry out repairs;
upholding company standards and provide exceptional customer service.
Monday – Friday, 08.30 – 17.30 and some Saturdays. Overtime is available but only as required.
